I began a new art journal this evening.  I am trying to hold myself to a visual, mostly) art journal.  This is not easy for me.  I seem to need to write my thoughts as much as I need to paint them, but I am trying to stick to visuals with less words to see if I can express myself without words.  I think I will learn a lot about the way I approach painting by doing this exercise of visuals only, so it will be a learning tool when I am finished. 

Lately I am fascinated with encaustic, and have a deep desire to try this art form – but it seems so involved, so much process, I don’t know if I could do it properly.  I recently saw a fake encaustic using acrylic medium, it didn’t look bad – but I think I am a purist.
